From time to time I have made portraits of the individual store owners, an ongoing activity. Some, such as the owner of the pet store, have moved away, but most are still in the neighbourhood. The goal of the portraits was to represent some of the still-existing commercial activity in the area but also to literally reflect the streetscape in the store windows by producing a context for these businesses and their owners within the image itself..
